It wasn’t an easy task as I had to extract all the content from the website, and format them to my liking.
I had some previous experience of exporting website so I dumped every text into a utf converter and good thing I did, because the converter found a few characters that wouldn’t show up on utf-8 format!
The easy step is to insert the content as I created a sample html file, I just dumped the content in the content area.

The following step when everything is to validate every pages.

For this part here, I used the cutted draft that I previously used.
The software I used to make the website is Coda.

I like it because it lets me preview the website and have very nice css feature.

I used the top banner the lower banner as enclosing pictures and the middle part as an extension that will grow vertically as the content is bigger.

Due to the lack of time, I did not try to center the website but I rather kept it on the left side.
First I had to write the header which didn’t take too long.

Then I had to work on the website.
I decided to use <div> tags because the layout is very simple and doesn’t need much.
After a few hours of work, I come up with something quite satisfying and simple, I used CSS to force the content to be 35px on the right using “padding-left” so it doesn’t mess up the layout and gave css a little beating to get the website have a less conventional look

I am pretty happy with what I had and the next part would be to add content.

Today I am going to cut the design draft into fragment that will be used to make the website.
Using photoshop I will cut the piece I need.
Having a look at the design, I can say that it only needs 3 cuts at most.

One cut that takes the upper part of the banner one that takes the lower part and one that cuts a fragment of the middle part.

upper banner

Here is the upper part where we cut the logo and the partition like fragment.

extended line

Here is the extended part where we keep the redundant background.

lower banner

Here is the lower banner which regroups the partition like fragment and the lower banner.
All of them are cut and now we need to use CSS and HTML to assemble them.

Tag cloud is very important from what I read. It is the metadata of the page which google/yahoo etc.. reads to reference your website to their search engine.
I don’t expect my website to make first page but I am sure that it’s a what most website admin are aiming for.

I’ve been working non-stop these few days in order to get thing started up again.
I appreciate that I am given a chance to redeem myself.
Here is the draft and final design of the website I was looking to do above.

I decided on the black color because it reminded me of the color of a piano I used to see a lot when I was young. During the years, going to restaurant, bars and other well known places, piano were often painted black.

With this in mind, I wanted the website to have a elegant color.
The top and lower image were done on photoshop. The first one had heavy use of brush and the second one had some image manipulation going on.
